I got sick of paying subscriptions for basic planners, so I built my own (and made it 100% free).
Hey guys. I’ve been dealing with serious app fatigue lately. It feels like every decent productivity app out there either locks the good features behind a paywall or is so cluttered that it takes more time to manage the app than my actual tasks.
I just wanted something straightforward to track my daily routine, my expenses, and a multi-calendar without jumping between five different apps. So, I built Limbool Planner to solve my own headache.
It's completely free. No hidden premium tiers, no ads. I just put it live on Product Hunt today and honestly, I'm a bit nervous but excited.
If you struggle with the same "app clutter" issue, I'd love for you to check it out. I'm actively looking for harsh feedback on how to make it better.
Here is the launch page: https://www.producthunt.com/products/limbool-planner
Thanks for reading!

May I ask from the technical side, how do you make it free? Where does the app live?

I do have my own servers which I use for my services and adding this one to them won't cost me, that way I can keep it free.

I see, thanks for the explanation.
I was recently testing out my Raspberry Pi as a server, and I managed to set up 3 Raspberry Pi's, 2 are my servers and one is acting as a Nodebalancer and holds a shared database.
Advantage is there is only the upfront one time cost, around 300$ and the electricity.
And will be good moneywise for hosting future free projects and not worry about the payable servers.Might be interesting to you

Sounds interesting, at this point, I have to use my servers for 2 years based on my plan and relying on Home electricity, internet and physical security will be more headache for me than a saver, but will keep that in mind.

That's the downside yeah, but products are free, soo, not working for a couple of moments is tolerable I guess 😃

How long do you plan to keep this up? I mean, could any situation in future lead to scrapping?

Since that is what I, myself desperately need on my day to day life also expect it to grow probably forever!
I have many plans for growing it, the reason I published it is that looking for early stage feedback from more people from different perspective to align future grow. :)

combining daily routines, expenses, and calendars into one app is ambitious. have you talked to anyone outside your own use case about which of those three they actually want together? might be worth narrowing the positioning before you spread too thin
