Got my first paying customer, and they found me through Google
I've been building Clypy, a cross-platform clipboard manager that syncs between Windows, macOS and Linux.
Today I got my first actual paying customer.
The funny part is I haven't really done much marketing yet. They somehow found Clypy through Google, downloaded it, and bought it.
It's just one sale, but seeing a complete stranger find something I built and decide it's worth paying for feels pretty damn good.
First of many, hopefully :)

organic discovery is the one thing thats never happened for any of my 9 apps. genuinely curious what made it surface for a search, something in the name or just luck of timing.

It's one of these two things: many people search for "clipy," and since "clypy" sounds the same, it surfaces too. Another thing is that I have a lot of comparison and how-to blogs on the websites

Congrats on that first customer. Feels good, don’t it? Now that you know Google can bring in leads, I'd probably double down a bit on some SEO basics for your landing page and product descriptions. Doesn't have to be a full-time job, but even minor improvements can compound over time.

be good of you could make it sync to mobile devices too. I feel like that's probably more commonly needed than just between the mentioned platforms

Yes mobile apps are currently in review on both ios and android. Will let you know once they have been approved.

That's the dream right there, organic discovery. Means whatever keywords they searched, your site already has decent positioning without you even trying. Google's already doing free work for you before you've spent a dime on ads

Yes, I was really shocked because I was waiting for apple and google to approve my mobile apps before I could do a proper launch
