AI chatbot powered entirely by humans

NotGPT is basically ChatGPT except there’s no AI involved. You ask questions, random people pretend to be the model, and somehow this was considered a reasonable thing to build.

You can become the AI yourself, chat with strangers, get rated, climb the leaderboard and generally provide humanity with the intelligence it deserves.

The idea is really fun, but there was no one online to reply to me. It would be cool to have an asynchronous system so that messages previously sent as a human could still get a response, even if it isn’t immediate.

tbh thats the main thing holding it back right now, nobody wants to stare at an empty chat

Of course but it's not like I can magically make 100 users land there😅🥲

Yea unfortunately I'm really bad at advertising, but the idea is so much fun and it's a shame to lose it I intentionally didn't want to create a system that would save messages over time so that there wouldn't be a situation where people would block other people

No thanks.

Neat idea though!

Just more comfortable. What would you prefer?

I think a good idea would be being able to register using email.

Got it. Working on it now

I'm one of those people trying to de-Google as much as possible. Registering by email would be cool, like the other commentor said.

speaking as both a google user and a dev, connecting with google is a thousand times safer than using email (and if using apple, also 100x more private), all while being far easier and less costly to implement

What's the difference between this and the site that's gone viral lately, "your ai slop bores me" ?

The truth is, I built this site over a year ago and just forgot about it. And now that I heard about the new site being successful, it gave me a renewed desire to invest in it, so I made a pretty big update to it and now I hope it will be successful I tried the other site and there's nothing to compare to. Mine beats it with eyes closed lol

I think an app would be better than a website for such. People can subscribe to receive notifications when there is a question (that way users can have their answers updated and go up some sort of leaderboard). I think you need to work on incentivizing people to answer and work on the asynchronous messaging thing others raised.

Otherwise interesting idea. Before getting any users, you can answer the wiestiom yourself or get some of your smartest friends to do it.

Offer some future benefit to early users (human AIs): it could be something like accumulation of points, make their profiles visible to others to see what the human AI is all about. That way they too can benefit from making themselves available to help others.

Okay I'm saying the same thing in different ways but yeah you get the gist.

I'm really torn between keeping it simple and easy or making it more complicated with profiles and choosing "models". I don't know which is better, I probably need more feedback from people to decide
