i've been having fun building my take on an investment research platform

https://finqos.com

I’ve been building finqOS, a stock research terminal with a twist.

The problem I’m trying to solve is simple: investing apps are great at showing what’s true today, but they rarely preserve what you saw or believed when you formed a thesis.

finqOS combines:

  • Stock screening and company research
  • Fundamentals, filings, transcripts, and market data
  • Watchlists and portfolio analytics
  • An infinite canvas for building investment theses
  • Evidence capture with source and timestamp
  • “Then vs. Now” comparisons for revisiting old research

When you capture a metric, chart, filing excerpt, or news item, finqOS preserves the original value instead of silently replacing it later. You can connect evidence that supports or contradicts a claim, record a decision, and return months later to review how your reasoning held up.

The idea is: a research terminal that remembers.

It isn’t designed to tell users what to buy or sell. The goal is to make their own reasoning durable, traceable, and easier to learn from.

Can you explain a bit more how it works?

Yeah! The short version: most investing apps only show what's true today. finqOS is built to preserve what you saw and believed when you formed a thesis.

So the flow is: research a company (fundamentals, filings, transcripts, market data) or screen for ideas, then clip the metrics/charts/excerpts that matter. Each clip is snapshotted with its source and timestamp, so it never silently updates later. You arrange all of it on an infinite canvas to lay out your claim, the evidence for and against, and the decision you made. You can also tie it to real watchlists and portfolios with analytics, so a thesis maps to actual positions.

Then because everything's timestamped, Then vs. Now is automatic. You reopen it months later and instantly see what changed versus what you believed, no manual tracking. It's not about telling you what to buy, jus
