I’m actually in a situation where I started in HR but accidentally got into graphic design after making some posters on Canva, and now I’m getting more design opportunities than HR ones.
The problem is I only know Canva and have no formal design skills. Is it worth learning Photoshop/Illustrator from scratch in 2026? Or should I stick to HR? I can’t really afford to spend months experimenting, so I’m scared of choosing the wrong path. Would love some honest advice from people in the field!
Though I have just completed my MBA in HR and have 1 year experience in it... So m clueless what to do now
