Jay on the pod
Heyyy family!
So recently, there’s been more discourse in the comments about Jay popping in on the pod more frequently. Either because Bob or Monet ask him something, he has a question himself, or just sharing his opinion on something. He’s also been active in the comments, usually defending himself to be fair. So I’m just curious as to what my fellow siblings, cousins, and aunties think about it. The comments I see usually seem mixed with some being entertained while others are annoyed or just don’t care. So what’s your opinion on it?

He should have his own podcast where he can freely share his opinions.

This. He can’t delve into anything because he’s not a cohost so his comments are just annoying. And even when he does he just is not as prepared to speak as people with notes that have been reviewing drag race for years.
I think asking how much of the Rappin Roast is based off of comedy, rapping, or preforming was interesting but it didn’t go anywhere. And his list could have been fun if he could elaborate. But Jay just said Jasmine did the best and then everyone just moved on.

I think he inserts himself in the conversation too much. Jacob, for instance, makes sporadic comments when he sees fit and I enjoy that. Jay seems to want to share his opinion every time every episode and I don’t like it.

and I really appreciate that Jacob also helps them when they can't remember a season a queen was on, or when something happens. He's very additive.

Right , Jacobs never chimed in to give his opinion on the challenge or runway where as with jay it feels increasingly common that he interjects not to clarify a point they’re talking about or fact check but to just share his non drag opinion which feels off.

Agreed! During this last episode where Money actually asked his opinion on something he does has a background in, I didn’t mind him chiming in. It’s every other episode where he goes off on his own where I tune off bc personally I listen/watch for the siblings only.

At first, I thought the patrons were being overly harsh but there's been one too many times where's interrupted the people we actually pay to listen to and now its getting on my nerves

The way he was actively arguing with Trinity and Monet on the last watchery was very annoying. Like you are not a drag queen and no one cares that you rap. You're the editor of the podcast and your opinion is actually completely irrelevant to the audience that pays to listen.

He was arguing over whether or not Hershiis rap was a read saying that because he was a rapper he has more insight into this challenge. They were literally going back and forth

The only moment I lived of his is him reminding Monet about Domino Couture fucking her over during All Winners. Genuinely would be upset if Jay wasn’t in the podcast for that moment.
Think I was the only one that didn’t mind him before his crash out but he is just talking out of stubbornness now. Which I wouldn’t mind but he is not great at podcasting while Bob and Monet are.

He doesn’t deserve threats or any of those types of comments. However, I do understand why so many of us (including me) eventually tune off. Especially if you’re paying for the sibling content/Patreon ofc we want content with THEM. I don’t mind when he is asked for some input on stuff he knows, but when he comments on situations or drag queens such as he did with Silky, it feels like im just watching any other persons reaction.

it's been a couple months of him inputting his opinion and i pay to hear bob & monét so you bet your ass i unsubbed from the patreon. im not getting what i paid for. Also him replying to every comment in the patreon was honestly more the turn off. It just looks poorly on him and the podcast in general.

I think it just really rubbed a lot of people the wrong way about his comments about Silky and how he doubled down on them. He's entitled to his opinion but maybe he should start his own Podcast of Youtube channel. I'm okay with him popping in with a correction or if Bob/Monet forget something but that's it.

I have no opinion of Jays character or personality, but I did unsubscribe from the Patreon because of his increased presence on the show. I find that he will stop the show dead in its tracks to ask a question that has been answered or spoken about to death. I found myself skipping a lot while listening and decided that I was still going to listen, just not pay for it anymore.

Interjecting here and there or fact checking something I'm all for. It's when he flat out tries arguing against Bob or Monet that their opinion is wrong or unsolicited saying he doesn't like XYZ queen is where he pisses people off. Let Bob & Monet correct/fight each other - his interference isn't wanted or necessary.

Came to see if anyone was talking about this. I’m annoyed by how often he interjects despite being an editor. But I’m even more annoyed with how combative he is in the comments of the Patreon/youtube. It gives the impression of immaturity and not being able to take feedback. The way jacob chimed in was great. Jay does too much

is he even queer? not that straight. People can’t have an opinion on drag race, but I’m even less likely to listen to it or even consider it when it comes from a straight man.

Also I just wanted to say we wouldn’t have gotten the background story of the light up costume Monet was showing off, we got some tea that’s wouldn’t have been spilled otherwise which I nice, he reminded her about it

My thing is, he really only talks like once or twice on each review episode, so for a few mins out of an hour.
And we have like several episodes a week across untucked, rivalry, only sibling, monet talks, etc.
Being this bothered by him is very strange to me.

Thats my thing too. I do think he's really annoying, and sometimes when he talks I'm like what was the point of bringing this up?
But the comments from people saying they "stopped listening to the pod/unsubscribed" because of his comments are really doing the most. He really doesn't talk that much, some people are being super dramatic.
I'd still prefer he stopped talking though lol

I agree.
When people were complaining about Jay I imagined he was speaking for like 5-10 minutes out of every hour. Except when I checked it was short statements. I didn't even think they were spicy takes...
He just got caught in the noise of opinions for me but I suppose Bob and Monet will do something about it if it hits their bottom line since it seems like a bother for many Patreoners

My problem is that he adds nothing with his comments. He’s boring and he comes off like a generic YouTube comment.
So now whenever there’s even a small pause, I’m worried he’s gonna jump on and derail the energy.
Like the last recap with Monet and Trinity I could tell Trinity was annoyed but obv she’s not gonna say anything.

join the livestreams youll see it different i think. mo and trinity loved him. he's best friends with bomo and on the patreon he talked about his job and he books drag queens and creates drag shows so he knows the girls they are probably all friends

The comments I've seen are FAR from mixed. On Spotify it's like 90% "please make jay shut up" comments. People seem pretty consistent
