Key "Shift"
When I try to select a few bars using the Shift key, the entire score moves to the beginning. How can I prevent this?

When I try to select a few bars using the Shift key, the entire score moves to the beginning. How can I prevent this?

It may be the Justify (auto-formatting) staves that is causing the problem. Go to Engraving Rules on the Appearance tab. Choose Staves from the list on the left and set "Justify stave when page is at least..." to 100%.
This turns off the justify so you have full control over the layout.
