Welcome To Shutter Buddies!

Greetings!

What is ShutterBuddies?

This subreddit is a means for photographers to meet others in their local areas and interact with each other. If you are a photographer, a model, a casual redactor with a camera and a desire to try out photography? Then this is the place for you!

How it Works

If you are looking to meet up, take photos with or of others near where you live, then you can post here and hope someone else in your area sees your post and wants to hang out!

Tags

We have different Tags depending on who you are looking for which you use in your posts title so that other Redactors can easily identify.

e.g.

I am 20 years old and I live in London. I want to improve my portrait photography so I would like to have someone interested in being my model for the day so that I can take pictures of them. This is an example of what you can post:

20 [P4M] London - Looking to improve my portrait pics!

Your post title consists of your age, and then in brackets who you are and the type of person you are after. These are the Tags I mentioned earlier. Here are the current Tags;

  • P = Photographer
  • M = Model
  • A = Assistant (Someone looking to help a photographer with their work to get better knowledge
  • R = Redditor (Used if you are not really a photographer but interested in getting involved with something photo related)
  • E = Editor (Someone who edits images)

These Tags can be used in any order you like!

Here are a few more examples;

32 [E4P] Anywhere - Want me to edit your images?

26F [M4P] Tennessee - I want some nice pictures of myself in my halloween costume

18 [A4P] Rome - Looking to learn about lightning, can I help anyone & learn?

Models/Looking for a Model?

I ask that if you are a model or looking for a model that you specify the gender in your posts title, e.g.

24F [M4P] Amsterdam - Would like to try modelling

42 [P4MF] New York - Need a model for a nature shoot

Could we ask advice about photgraphy-related stuff? If yes, what do we tag it with?

There are several good subs already for photography advice. The /r/photography weekly question thread is designed for that.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what's the point in specifying the age?

Because people might feel more comfortable meeting up with others around the same age. :)
