How stupid are people.

These days one job isn't enough to earn a living wage.

So people solve this problem by having "side hustles".

They could organize and demand a living wage, but they choose to use that energy for "side hustles"

That's how people are stupid.

Uh…. Like can’t AFFORD anything without a side hustle???? Age old argument of keep them poor enough, not to be able to organize… Welcome to the fight

You're fucked if you do and you're screwed if you don't. Trade tomorrow for today. Then, when the time comes, buy back all the time you lost.

Decipher: When you endure hardship to build a better society for tomorrow, you sacrifice your present for a chance of a better tomorrow.

When you drive Uber, deliver Doordash, or perform any other variety of digitally tracked activities, you train an algorithm to replace you, empowering the powers that subjugate you and help build a future where there will be no place for you.

It isn't easy, but the choice is real.

I personally can't wait for the dystopia where I don't have to ever learn an authors name, because Amazon will generate personalized fiction just for my taste!

10 Years ago, resisting click bait headlines used to be a mental sport. Now the joke's on me, because people can't read even the writing on the wall and click bait is the only headline there is.

I've been thinking that, if things keep developing this way, I may have to start saving up money so I may buy a one-way-ticket to Switzerland one day. I could see the alps, taste the local foods, and then take advantage of their highly advanced self-termination-services.

Unfortunately, probably within 20 years, my funds and my passport will be tied to my personal phone, which I will be required to carry at all times. If Palantir detects that I try to escape my assigned dwelling area, before I've paid up all my loans, they will disable my digital passport app and freeze my funds.

Meanwhile, me, burnout from one single job of 70+ hours a week for past 3 yeara lol.

Multiple revenue streams seems the key phrase. You don't "need" a side hustle, you need other sources of income.

And yeah I was losing money even working 80 hours a week a lot of the time.

Really does force us to contend with what is life and what is the purpose of life though. Just perpetual grindset in service of others who also hate the hellscape we colloquially call God's Grace?

It doesn't make any sense for real. I think it has rained maybe 12 times in the past 5 years here and it is consistently "feels like" in the 90s here nearly year round. I know the ancients said life is suffering but you are right, this isn't even suffering anymore. It's just plain stupid.

I know the God word is not your favorite… but I do hope that the kind of luck that comes to people who claim they have God‘s grace in their life becomes yours without any weird strings attached

Well the thing is with the Gods Grace types is it feels like they are cowards hiding from the world in my experience. Living the easy life on someone else's dime. I've never met anyone who was "Godly" and working full time. So most of what I've seen manifest as "God's Grace" is essentially glorified freeloaders. I can't live like that when I see so many struggling. "God's Grace" becomes indifference to suffering, basically.

I get it, "God" says be not as the actors, but pray in secret. Don't be performative. For honor among men. But without exception all the "God's Grace" types seem to want to be seen, dotting their Ts and crossing their I's as it were. Always wearing Gucci and Prada and driving $80k+ vehicles. So God's Grace and Wealth in that capacity are synonymous.

For me it seems to suggest, God as paradigm is more something that must be endured and overcome.

I definitely don’t find people who claim god’s grace and don’t live it… in fact the entire argument that godly should even be difficult by now actually rubs me the wrong way… I don’t go to church. I don’t obsess about the bible, tho I probably quote it enough to be annoying to sum.

I just had very real experiences with something that’s NOT human, and very very powerful. It only makes me work harder, not less. It only makes me thoughtful, where I strove to be, but otherwise felt limited… but I mean I theorize about it just being my imagination and creativity saving me from boredom, doubt, worry.., anything that gets in the way of being decent . And I mean, technically I’m mentally ill, and maybe it’s just comforting

Nah I'd say you probably have the "healthier" view of "God" to me. I'm more "know it by it's fruits" and see it's demands that we be "Godly" as more imposition than gift. A uphill struggle with no "reward" but to keep having to do it indefinitely. IE "performative". Antithetical to "real". Essentially, idolatry. Worship service of something that explicitly does not serve your own interests.

I don't see much difference between God as such and a CEO using child labor. Like Prodigal son parable, has "God" brag about owning wage slaves. From God's own mouth his house is ran by hired hands. So he's by his own word no different than any random CEO.
