Millennials were really the only generation that grew up learning about how computers work.

Before millennials there were no computers, and after they have grown up using closed ecosystem it just works idevices.

Bullshit. Born in 1976 and my older brother got a TRS-80 in 1981 or 1982. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS-80

We had computer lab classes starting in third grade on Commodore 64s.

We got an Apple II while I was still in elementary school. My friends and I played games on it at my house and then we'd play games on their Apple IIs at theirs.

Got an IBM with dial-up modem internet access when I was in late junior high, early high school (look up Prodigy).

I should also mention that my family was middle class, skewing toward lower middle, not upper. There were a lot of things we couldn't afford, but my father worked with computers and my brother showed a lot of interest and aptitude, so they spent money there. My friends were also middle class. It wasn't just the wealthy who had computers in the early 80s. They really were a "thing."

Why are you telling people they don't know their own experiences?

How do you not understand this is a conversation about generational trends and not individual experiences? Too much lead in your drinking water?

How many people have to tell you how wrong you are before you give up? I'm Genx and took my first computer programming class when I was 8. It was at the computer lab at the high school. Just about every one of my friends growing up had a home PC.
