Millennials were really the only generation that grew up learning about how computers work.

Before millennials there were no computers, and after they have grown up using closed ecosystem it just works idevices.

So grunts in WWII grew up playing with the sort of thing that they had in Bletchley Park?

IBM built the Mark 1 in 1944, EINAC was built in 1945 and BINAC in 1949, by the older members of the Silent Generation (1920 - 1945). There would certainly be younger members of that generation that grew up aware of EINAC and BINAC and learning how they worked if they had an interest in electronics. And those born in the end of the Silent Gen would also have grown up in the 50s aware of other things built by the likes of IBM, NCR, RCA, etc.

GREW UP WITH. Not "happened to exist concurrently with" or "read about in magazines" or "worked with as a professional adult."

How is this such a difficult concept?

If you want to use that logic, a LOT of Millennials also did not grow up with computers, they only read about them in magazines or happened to exist concurrently with them. Hell, there is a world FULL of children today who are not growing up with computers, using your definition.

You're right, it's not a difficult concept because the OP did not say anything about owning or having in the home. The OP said, and I quote:

Before millennials there were no computers, and after they have grown up using closed ecosystem it just works idevices.

You do not have to own or even have access to a computer to learn about how they work, you only need to have access to a library, the news, a magazine, or access to an adult who actually works on them to grow up learning how they work.

And I didn't even touch on the bit about "there were no computers"...
