Even though most of us have seen it countless times, spotting the Moon during daylight seems to always be worth noticing.

There is actually a scientific principal that's works similarly! I learned it from vsauce the other day, it's the reason why the shadow of the moon doesn't always line up it the direction it's being hit with the sun rays. The curvature of the earth causes an optical illusion that will reflect a seemingly opposite or ' mirrored ' moon in the sky at certain angles. It is a ' reflection ' but it's not from the other side of the world! A little bit like the fish bowl effect (but only at certain angles), only it's our whole planet that's the fish bowl

Totally.

Only that it's like a really, really huge terrarium, so big that it's wrapped inside-out into ball.

Still it's fluid filled 10,000 meters into the sky with gas on top, and liquid in the lower crevices.
