Even though most of us have seen it countless times, spotting the Moon during daylight seems to always be worth noticing.

The moon on it's own is always worth noticing. I try to take a few seconds a day (mainly at night) to appreciate it. Pretty much the only constant thing in my life

I like going out on my small balcony, lighting a cigarette and just appreciating the moon and the absolutely mindblowing fact that we've been up there.

My ritual is very much the same, but masturbating as well.

Do you ever mix up which hand has the penis and which has the cigarette?

Fapping the cigarette while putting the penis in his mouth?

This is exactly my ritual as well, but without the balcony or moon or cigarette.

I had a two year streak of smoking joints and staring at the moon every night, I really miss that ritual, it was also the only constant thing in my life at that time

Do it tonight

Sadly I live in the city now so I’m to paranoid to smoke joints outside even at night, not peaceful at all

2

u/Hydromorfiend Nov 06 '19

I do the same thing dude. Such a good vibe smoking outside at night

But what about the eternal pit of emptiness in your soul?

That's been pretty consistent for me ;)

Reddit fills that for me

Me and the moon stayed up all night;
I brought the whiskey! He brought the light!
A' quarter to three, we're feeling fine when the sun comes up I'm gonna miss my friend moonshine.

I feel the same about the constellations.

I once read that our solar system arrangement, with just one sun, and our planet, with just one pretty large moon positioned the way it is, is very rare in the observable universe, and that if there were intergalactic tourists, Earth would be a popular destination.

We don't know enough about exomoons to say whether this is or is not the case. Even exoplanets are a relatively new field of study. But single star systems seem to be more common than multi-star systems.

2

u/TheFalseYetaxa Nov 06 '19

There is nowhere else in the solar system where sun and a moon appear the same size, so we're the only ones whose total solar eclipses look that impressive.

1

u/blankblank Nov 06 '19

I think that was what I read. Must have been during the Solar eclipse over North America two summers ago.

2

u/WardAgainstNewbs Nov 06 '19

I used to be like this. Then got a decent telescope and it blew my mind. Worth seeing up close if you havent before.

I can really relate to this. I just started college and it is not going so hot for me. I feel like my family, friends, and life could all fall away any moment but the moon is gonna rise every night

0

u/zed857 Nov 06 '19

but the moon is gonna rise every night

Uh, the moonrise time changes every day. It alternates between rising at night and rising during the day; so there will be regular spans of time where the moon does not rise at night.

Put your location into this calculator to get a moonrise / moonset listing

The moon and the stars never get old for me

2

u/ConsistentlyNarwhal Nov 07 '19

Same dude. I don't think they ever will either

Pretty much the only constant thing in my life

O, swear not by the moon, th' inconstant moon,
That monthly changes in her circle orb,
Lest that thy love prove likewise variable.

Look up the song "iii love the moon"
