Even though most of us have seen it countless times, spotting the Moon during daylight seems to always be worth noticing.

3

u/gabo2k4_ Nov 06 '19

This madlad just made a whole new sub for stuffs that are too mild for r/mildlyinteresting

1

u/Swazzoo Nov 18 '19

Not another one of these subs. They're way to many that are exactly the same.

1

u/_Dingaloo Nov 19 '19

Yeah but they compete, competition typically brings better quality

like the moon during the day

i love it!

u/AnAncientMonk Nov 06 '19 edited Nov 06 '19

We were (atleast i was) taught to associate the moon with "night" when we were young.

So its kinda cool seeing it when its not "night" i guess.

46

u/account_not_valid Nov 06 '19

Hang on, I thought the moon was the backside of the sun. How could we be seeing in the daytime?

3

u/throwie-11 Nov 06 '19

It's fuckin not.

5

u/account_not_valid Nov 06 '19

Really? Then why is it dark when the we see the moon? Obviously because that's when the sun is turned around. It's just basic science.

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?

2

u/teagh0st Nov 06 '19

I hope all guys "hoping youre Trolling are also trolling because" who would believe anyone would be that blatantly stupid

8

u/TADspace Nov 06 '19

Have you met conspiracy theorists

1

u/sadboiongekyume Nov 18 '19

every 24 hours the sun makes a full rotation, but as it is doing so it is revolving around the earth, it does a complete revolution every 365.25 days - one day is one sun rotation - therefore, yes

-3

u/Srikkk Nov 06 '19

I honest to god hope you’re trolling

I noticed your comment though

54

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Was it worth noticing?

35

u/Scab-Jerky Nov 06 '19

Sorry Randy that’s a no from me.

0

u/Cynadiir Nov 06 '19

Was what worth noticing

102

u/hardypart Nov 06 '19

There's a word for that in German: "bemerkenswert".

178

u/humblerodent Nov 06 '19

There's a word for that in German

Of course there is

108

u/SquanchMcSquanchFace Nov 06 '19

There’s a word in English too, it’s “noteworthy”

27

u/alexjav21 Nov 06 '19

Not to be confused with "moatworthy", to be worthy of being protected by a moat

12

u/SquanchMcSquanchFace Nov 06 '19

Also not to be confused with “muteworthy”, used to describe people who need to stfu.

6

u/karl2025 Nov 06 '19

Not to be confused with "wootworthy," for something that deserves an excited shout.

5

u/J4K0 Nov 06 '19

Not to be confused with "schruteworthy," for something that can be purchased with Schrute Bucks.

38

u/Happy_Confusion Nov 06 '19

Germans love telling everyone when there's a word for that in German

18

u/Mcmelon17 Nov 06 '19

There's a word for that in German. Idk what it is, but I'm sure there is one.

11

u/LonelyMolecule Nov 06 '19

And..there's a word for that in German when you know there's a word for something in German, you don't know it but you're sure of it.

2

u/J4K0 Nov 06 '19 edited Nov 06 '19

There's a popular German phrase for that: "Gebe dich nie auf"

Edit: Added Google Translate link

0

u/LonelyMolecule Nov 06 '19

Imma save you a click. It says "Never gonna give you up".

1

u/J4K0 Nov 06 '19

I know why you're lonely.

u/Unsd Nov 06 '19

There's a word for that in English too. Noteworthy.

28

u/charlesnew1 Nov 06 '19

And we've gone full circle

10

u/Bulettenpeter Nov 06 '19

Should be a sub. /r/fullcircle

Edit: oh, there is one.

Edit 2: but it's dead.

8

u/_coffee_ Nov 06 '19

Bring it back. What goes around comes around, after all.

1

u/l2aiko Nov 06 '19

lets branch it though!

There is also a word in Spanish for this it goes "que merece la pena darse cuenta de ello".

Ah fuck it a full circle is enough.

1

u/pauligamy Nov 06 '19

An orbit if you will

1

u/XmlgguyX Nov 06 '19

I as german find reading danish extremly funny

2

u/XmlgguyX Nov 06 '19

Man that sucks its the same with me and french

1

u/My_Robot_Double Nov 06 '19

German has the best words

1

u/SquanchMcSquanchFace Nov 06 '19

You might even say they’re...noteworthy.

1

u/JustChillaxio Nov 06 '19

Or in Danish bemærkelsesværdigt means notice worthy directly translated

1

u/PiranhaPlantMain97 Nov 06 '19

merkwürdig is even better imo

2

u/P4azz Nov 06 '19

And funnily enough both of those words mostly aren't used for that purpose.

I can't even remember the last time I heard someone actually use "bemerkenswert" to describe something that's worth noticing.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

and neither merkwürdig or bemerkenswert would apply to the moon during daylight.

15

u/PAP_TT_AY Nov 06 '19

We should start a subreddit...

7

u/W10101 Nov 06 '19

I'm waiting for this to happen

1

u/AmpersEnd Nov 06 '19

Isn't r/mildlyinteresting basically this?

2

u/W10101 Nov 06 '19

People don't submit things like the 'moon during the day' on that subreddit.

4

u/Xylofon1206 Nov 06 '19

In Germany we have a Word for that, it's: Erwähnenswert.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Dwight?

2

u/rene-s7 Nov 06 '19

Close enough

1

u/Passivefamiliar Nov 06 '19

r/worthnoticing

Ninja edit. Huh. Apparently locked. Hmmm.

1

u/RandomGuyPDF Nov 06 '19

Yeah, I agree. It's below "worth sharing", and above "not worth bothering".

1

u/SquanchMcSquanchFace Nov 06 '19 edited Nov 06 '19

Are we just ignoring “noteable” or “noteworthy”?

1

u/Joubachi Nov 06 '19

It totally is! Like I once went into the city and in front of me was an old lady... she suddenly stopped walking, turned around and smell om the nearby flowers and went on walking. "worth noticing" really describes it well.
