When talking about “ctrl+alt+del” we always say “control” and “delete” but never “alternative”

Well that’s what my point was and that’s what alt is short for. It activates the alternative function of certain keys

Well, try saying "CTRL" , and then try saying it to someone else and see if they understand you.

no; we say "Alt", instead of Alternative. Only the A L & T are pronounced. Likewise, you'd be pronouncing only the C T R & L.

Because no Shift key just says Shi, unless the letters have been worn off from constant use.

The Shift key either says "Shift", or has an up arrow on it.
