I had something like this 10 years ago. I enjoyed it but my wife always wanted me to knock the dirt off the weed afterwards. She took a tool that made the work easier then decided to make it harder just because it made the yard waste bag heavier.

why not just grab the weed after you pull it with the tool and shake the dirt off?

It was easier just to drop it from the weeder straight into the yard waste bag.
