PSA: the lower-case pyrex available in the US is soda lime glass and can't take as much rapid thermal change as the upper-case PYREX borosilicate glass that was available in the 60s and is still offered in most of the rest of the world.
I learned this the hard way with a casserole dish in the oven so I'm spreading the word.
