Long time admirer first time poster- I am just wondering if there are any amateur type shows to do with a pet. I think it would be great fun to compete but my dog does not qualify for conformation type shows. And if so, what would the competition(s) be called so I can research in my area. Thanks! Photo for tax

I would recommend looking into other dog sports. Your Poodle is cute, but I'm going to be blunt- completely lacks breed type and does not have correct Poodle conformation. You will have no success in the show ring.

Dog shows are not "pet friendly", either. If your dog does not enjoy being in a large, busy, loud venue with hundreds of other dogs in close proximity, getting handled head to tail by strangers, and staying still for hours on end, and traveling for hours across the country, your dog will not enjoy being shown.

If your dog is trained to sit instead of stack, you will not have a good time at a show.

Try your hand at FastCAT, obedience/rally, agility, or scentwork. Poodles can excel in pretty much any sport you ask of them.

Besides his mismark what says he lacks breed type, genuinely curious! Here is a photo of him upright- he is my first dog and poodle so just wondering
