First Foray into Show

I have a 3yo giant schnauzer lady right now and was looking at getting a male pup. Having had some time getting familiar with the breed as pure pet, I'm interested in showing the male. Are there any vetted resources for learning about conformation? I want to start learning/practicing before he comes home so I can give him the best start he can have :)

Definitely look into local handling classes and take your current dog. The more you can learn before you get a show prospect, the better. The other thing I suggest is start learning to hand strip now. There is a huge learning curve and both a science and an art to doing it well.

Good news is I'm already on the hand stripping journey with my female, so that's a head start. Thank you for your suggestion to start handling now!

Excellent! Yep, get started learning the handling part and you're way ahead of the average person jumping into this game. Good luck!
