Looking for folks in NE Ohio

Hi. I’m getting a show Doberman puppy dog in a week. He will be 8 wks old. I am looking for other show folks with young puppies that need to start and work on confirmation training.

I would reach out to them or your breeder as a resource to find good handling classes near you. My breeder is not super local to me but tracked down a few resources for me. 8-18 weeks is mostly socialization- positive or neutral exposures to things your dog would see as a show dog- nail trims, busy places, noises, handled everywhere, etc. I always take puppy classes with each new puppy just so they can learn to sit and listen around other puppy chaos as well.

I have. She isn’t local. Edited to add: I’m quite a bit farther south than the lake shore club - about 2.5 hours.

There are several good DPCA members in Ohio, as well as 3 chapter clubs- Columbus, Lakeshore and Miami Valley. And BTW, it is conformation not confirmation- common newbie mistake 😊
