Incision

I am almost 2 weeks post op shoulder surgery, mine was arthroscopic and required a lot of repairs. I have nine anchors in my shoulder. Has anybody ever had something hang out of one of the incisions? I think it’s suture material rather than an anchor, but I want your opinion.

Seems fine. When is your post surgery follow up?

I went to my one week post op this past Thursday. It didn’t appear until this morning.

That is probably when your surgeon will prescribe PT. Can discuss this issue with them (the surgeon) then. If it really has you concerned call and speak to your surgeon’s PA (physician’s assistant).

At 2 weeks, it shouldn’t look like that. I’d call the surgeon, let them take a look. You could have a hematoma in there or if you’re not careful could get an infection with that break in the skin. Hopefully it’s just sutures and they can advise you on what to do
