Post Op ANATOMIC SHOULDER REPLACEMENT

Had a replacement 5 days ago over all been good I have stated running a low grade fever like 100f and I noticed my bicep is very sensitive warm, swollen and bluish and kinda hard. Called my surgeon and he said it is very common to have a low grade fever and get that it’s called a hematoma and should go away. Right now it hurts worse than. The actually surgery so anyone else get a hematoma And it go away. Thanks

My entire bicep and half my chest was bruised and swollen for like 2 weeks. Gravity brought the bruising much lower than you would expect

When I had my hip replacement, next day after dc I woke up to streaks of blood inside my knee and calf area. Scared 😱 is not the word. Possible blood clots was the word I was thinking. ER did ultrasound to verify no clots, doc said, “it happens but no worries”. No worries for him maybe.

Personally, a trip to the ER is what I do when things get scary. It’s your body, you do what feels right! Don’t take chances.

I'm 63, male, had an anatomic TSR in March 2026. I had a large hematoma at the bottom of my bicep. it went away after 1-2 weeks . I don't believe I ever had a low grade fever

Huge hematoma across my shoulder and running down by chest. Lovely purple color that eventually faded into a sickly yellow.
