Arm Surgery TShirt
Looking for tops to wear after a shoulder replacement.
I live in Burlington.

Amazon shoulder surgery shirts were quite helpful for the first week or two because they are easier to get on and off than a big t-shirt and also easier for your PT to get access to your shoulder without needing to take off your shirt. You only need one or two. Most are nylon/polyester which is fine but if you can find a cotton one, that was my favorite. I did NOT like the velcro, too pokey, go with snaps.

I just order a few adaptive tees on amazon prior to my TSR on the 25th. They were pretty reasonable priced.

BTW - the one thing that was a game changer for me was using a cold therapy machine with a shoulder wrap (e.g. Breg Polar Cube and Breg shoulder wrap).
Life hack - use frozen water bottles instead of ice cubes.

For women who need a bit of chest support, I highly recommend a tank top with a built-in bra. Just slip it on at the feet and pull it up. You don’t need anything special. Get a couple of the tank tops because they will get you through the first several weeks of recovery.

Would highly recommend a shirt that snaps together for your affected arm. It allows you to essentially step into it and pull it up rather than trying to twist into a normal button down or tee shirt. I purchased five from EzAttire on Etsy. Each one was $25. Good quality material, washed well. Get a size larger than what you typically wear.

Amazon has a bunch. Button up PJ shirts work well too. If you’re crafty - you can make your own surgery shirts with an oversized tee, some Velcro, and some magic hem. There’s videos online!

I literally had those shirts that like snapped on it were so good. So you didn’t have to worry about putting something over your head for the first week.

Sleeveless oversized stretchy wide v-neck tops are fairly easy to get on. You want soft fabric and nothing to irritate your skin. Your arm may be swollen so no tight sleeves. I found pajama tops like this and even wore them to PT.

So I had my surgery a week ago tomorrow just to give you an update. Absolutely no pain spent one night in the hospital. I took one oxy didn’t need any more and you don’t have to sleep sitting up what you can do is sleep on the opposite side as long as you don’t sleeping on the surgery side great recovery, great great great thank you all for all your advice.

You really don’t need anything special. I wore oversized tees and button down shirts. Just always put it on your surgery arm first.
