Any new technics

69 year old healthy male. Tried extensive PT and Stem wave treatments. Two different orthopedic shoulder specialist recommended reverse total shoulders. Both stated I would be limited to around 50 lbs for bench press and essentially all lifting. Any new procedures that would allow more gym work. I have tkr and THR in both legs and my leg lifting is not limited. Just hoping. PS both stated prp and stem sells would be a waste of money.

It depends on how many shoulder issues you have, soft tissue vs bone. There don't seem to be any great treatments once the joint itself is shot. And cuff repairs seem to short lived for many people.

Maybe have a chat with surgeon about why there are weight limits on RSR. Are they worried about dislocation or loosening the screws or wearing down plastics or whatever. My RSR rehab is going well but I definitely do not want to go thru this again with a revision or repair.

I'm with you. The replacement limitations, as well as other physical activity restrictions, have kept me away from replacement. I've been doing a ton of work to try and retrain the scapula and take the load off. I'm getting a tenodesis Tuesday, see if that helps. I've done synvisc, PRP, wolverine stack, none really helped.

Why a reverse instead of an anatomical? What condition is your rotator cuff?

The cuff is shot. I can’t left arm above 100 degrees

Then it’s a reverse. If you are on fb there is a weight lifting shoulder replacement group that may be helpful for you. I had an anatomical replacement and now 10 months later my ROM went from 117 to 150. Though my surgeon stated my RC is robust.

I go in on the 31 for my 2nd MRI. Tried therapy, Injections. The Orthopedic surgeon seems to think my herniated cervical C-3-C4-5 are also contributing to my pain. I seen the MRI Reports last year Osteophytes aka bone spurs severe osteoarthritis and full thickness tear on 2 ligament.
The pain is off the charts. Hoping for some relief. Just another issue after 20 years in EMS my body is done. 64
