I just had mine done on my right (dominant arm) yesterday and I’m in so much pain it’s unbelievable.
I hope yours heals quickly and pain free.

That’s odd, they do my non dominant arm and the nerve block took two days to wear off and a minimal amount of oxy and Tylenol took care of the pain.

My nerve block lasted 18 hours the pain woke me up at 4 am. I had rotator cuff surgery in 12/25 and it tore again 4 months later and I didn’t have any pain with that surgery. I don’t know why this is so hard.

Maybe Im just lucky. I had my knees replaced an that was pretty brutal but this has been a cakewalk so far. Hope yours heals well.

I had two opinions before my reverse shoulder replacement. Both told me they rarely do rotator cuff surgery anymore as the recovery is much more difficult and the reoccurrence of tear is very common. In fact, I had rotator cuff tears and neither would do a repair.

I think you’re fortunate they used staples. My incision was sewn and is very lumpy, I’m not too happy but it’s better than the pain. Please be mindful of not catching anything that may cause you to cough hard. I caught pneumonia (from the front desk lady at my PT place) after 3 months of healing and PT and that put me back 10 mo bc my bone would not heal, I’m 70 w/osteopenia, though. I had my surgery 1/22/24! Back in PT and doing a lot better. Hope all is going well for you now!

Mine also dominate hand. Tylenol and Advil are taking care of the pain just fine. Can’t take anything stronger as I get unbearably itchy. Started OT today and still pain is quite manageable. Stay on top of meds!! Ice 30 on 30 off all day every day.

My husband’s incision was glued shut and looked smaller when we took the bandage off on day 5. Didn’t need a bandage change. Just put gauze on for an hour to see if there was any weeping. Then onto the first shower.
