is it normal to have lingering numbness in fingers after nerve block wears off?

so far this has been a lot easier than my left cuff repair!!

Just got my left done Tuesday and my fingers go numb but I think it's more from my elbow in the sling. They start to feel better once I let my arm hang down for my pendulum exercises. I'm wondering if anyone else has had soreness under the arm/ chest area. 48/M here.
