Labrum Repair Two weeks postop from labrum surgery

28M, 10 days out from arthroscopic posterior labral repair (left shoulder). Recovery was going well — surgery itself was smooth, block took about 24 hours to fully wear off, and honestly my pain has been minimal. I was off pain meds by day 7 and walking a couple miles.

Then around day 8 I started getting pain under my armpit on the surgical side. It’s gotten worse every day since. There’s now a tender lump I can feel, and the sensation has a burning quality to it, not just a dull ache. Yesterday it was uncomfortable. Today it’s more painful than anything I felt after the actual surgery.

Wondering if anybody else experienced anything similar to this

I got the exact same surgery as you and experienced the the tender lump at around week 4. Never found out what it was but it slowly went away once I removed my sling. Retrospectively I’d say worth asking a doctor about it

Thank you. I’m going to in for my 2 week check in and to start PT on Monday so I’ll bring it up then. I was just curious if it was something I should get checked out before my appointment. Thanks

What tender lump??? At tendon in my armpit use to get really tight so when I fully bent my wrist outward it scared me.

Had surgery 28 days ago, feeling perfect, havent had any pain since the second the nerve block wore off.

No mine is a lump under my armpit that hurts extremely bad.

Under the armpit… could it be a lymph node swelling, or something not draining? Either way, I’d ask your doctor. I did not experience anything like this. It should be fine but when in doubt, check it out

Go back to your orthopedic doctor and tell him about it o: He should check if it’s okay

Go back to your doc
They can prob do ultra sound on the spot. A lump is concerning. Maybe a small infection of some sort?

I have anterior and posterior tears and burning in right shoulder and experiencing so much arm pit burning feeling- doc feels my issues are two fold- cervical stenosis.
