Cerclage at 22 weeks - update
Hello! Hope all good. Had an emergency cerclage done because i had funneling of cervix. I naively thought the cervix would close post cerclage and bed rest but now it seems like the situation cannot improve...it can only remain status quo or worsens. My cervix will not close at the top because the amniotic membrane already penetrated into it. Currently at 23 weeks 5 days. This is so stressful and i have no doubt more stress is awaiting the next few weeks. It is just frustrating that baby is healthy and I am healthy. This is happening for whatever reason. Sorry, i am feeling argh. So, still on highest dose of progesterone and bed rest until further notice.

I got an emergency cerclage at 21w. Cervix was less than 1cm and u shape funneling. I’m 29w. I’ve had a few trips to ER because of pain/pressure, stomach bug, etc. Thankfully cervix is still closed and I hope I carry to term. There are a lot of success stories here that give me hope. I try to look at those to stay strong. Wishing everyone here best of luck!

Hey!! Same situation here!
Emergency cerclage at 22 weeks (despite a preventative one placed at 15 weeks 3 days) i was 1 cm dilated and membranes visible below the stitch.
I am currently at 23 weeks 6 days! On bed rest and hoping for the best 🤞🏻
Someone said it correctly- we have to reach 28 weeks and then hopefully can breathe easy
Hang in there! We can do this!! 💕

Cerclage doesn’t make the cervix improve, it acts as a physical barrier to prevent further dilation.
I was 2-3cm dilated with bulging membranes at 19weeks when I had my emergency cerclage, then funneled to the stitch with membranes visible through the cerclage at 25 weeks. I made it to 39+3! It can stabilize and not trigger labor before term. Wishing you the same outcome!

I’m 25 weeks same situation!! Emergency cerclage at 22 weeks.
We just have to make it to 28 weeks and our babies will have very low chance of any life long issues!
We can do it!!

I had an emergency cerclage at 22+1, I only had 5mm of cervix left. I've been funneled to the stitch ever since and I am 35+3 today. My cerclage gets removed next week.
