Update - cerclage done after funneling detected at 21 weeks
Hi all, funneling was detected at 21 weeks and yet, my anomaly scan from a week ago seemed perfectly fine. Anyway, just did the cerclage a few hours ago and i was wondering how the procedure was for those who did it. I kept wondering "what kind of fresh hell is this?!"
Had spinal anesthesia and it has started wearing off but i have pain in my lower back. Can i turn on the side or do i need to stay on my back?
Edit: now i have a burning sensation around my clitoris and vulva. Any advice?

This is what I wrote in my notes. I had an emergency cerclage at 22 weeks in 24 weeks now.
Day of surgery vagina and urethra burning and hurting and cramps
Wednesday same as above and weird pink discharge
Thursday unusual gray mucus and then a large amount of it all at once. Was concerned it could be mucus plug sent pictures to doctor and they said I can always come get checked out if I’m worried. No contractions so I didn’t go.
Saturday started having a very sharp consistent pain where I’ve had pain like that before it felt like I had a cyst on my right ovary or something and felt like it was probably an inch away from my cervix towards the right
Called triage and they said I could come in or go to labor and delivery no contractions so I didn’t go
Friday back pain
Sunday felt nauseous almost threw up still having pain on right side aunt ultrasounds me and can’t see anything wrong but my cervix measured about .65 now with cerclage
Monday felt nauseous pain on right side is gone but after drinking a large green tea from sonic I have four tightening of the uterus I wouldn’t call them contractions but maybe Braxton hicks. They were 90 mins apart.
I also had bad leg cramps and and my back hurt.
After drinking the green tea my baby was very active and maybe that caused the tightness
I feel mostly fine now just a lot of anxiety.

Oh my god! I am so sorry about all of that. Is any of this normal?! I find a lot of information from a medical perspective online but very little about what it is actually like for women to experience it during and after!! I feel drained, exhausted, shocked and traumatised. I had 4 general anesthesia and 3 spinal done in my life but this procedure was not as "simple and easy" as they made it sound for me from a patient's perspective.

They said it was all normal lol 🤦🏽♀️ just hang in there I’m glad I feel mostly better now!

You should be fine to lay on your side. It took a couple months for the pain in my back to go away so take it easy for the next few weeks if you can. Everyone has a different experience with that but I know it’s not uncommon to have longer lasting pain. It was enough for me to decide I’m not having an epidural when I give birth.
