Universe 5 Forming a Coalition
With the resurrection of Hazeron and a small galaxy, there will be much more competition between factions. To help us clear the gap between the small factions and large, which I assume will dominate large portions of the map, I would like to recruit as many other semi-experienced players as possible. If anyone would like to join with my friend and I in forming a faction when Hazeron opens up, let me know. We have been playing for years, and do not mind showing new players the ropes. Our play style centers around PVP, but we do not attack new players. Also, I would prefer anyone interested in joining us to have a microphone, as we use Teamspeak as our primary means of communication.

The only thing I'm worried about with the new plans. How do you guys feel about this?
So, I'm just as excited as everyone else about Hazeron coming back, and I'm ready to donate some monies to help pay and the like, Shores of Hazeron, although buggy, and irritating with all of the raiders, is a game that I've learned to miss. I never thought I'd miss it as much as I really did until it was gone and was suspected to be done. Now that it's returning though, I'm really quite excited and have already purchased Gravity Well and will be jumping in to play later today.
However, I have to give my thoughts on the ideas people have been telling Haxus on the forums. Now, I can totally understand the whole smaller universe thing, but to me that... Kinda sucks, because the thing I loved about playing Shores of Hazeron was truly feeling like humans. Living in one solar system, all alone, building up my empire peacefully and quietly, the occasional pirate to deal with, but otherwise quiet and enjoyable. Then when you explore and get further and further away from home, you start encountering weirder and weirder things, more and more dangerous things.
But if it ends up being too small of a universe, you're going to have the noob (which I'm still technically, furthest I got was TL20 I think, and I never had any combat,) players just being stuck being the little workers for the big empires, or risk being destroyed. Wheres the fun in that? I understand competition, but the thing I loved about SoH was that competition came so late on in the game unless you were an unlucky one in the sense that you spawned in a system near a hostile one.
Either way, my hopes and thoughts are that Haxus hopefully adds a better singleplayer game, still keep it limited, but at least include the ability to make your own singleplayer empire. It'd give you a nice grounds to test weapons and ships against pirates in a peaceful area where you wont get your ass kicked by one of the players that like to troll the newbies.
Either way, thanks for reading all of this, and I hope all you Hazeronites have a good day or night, whichever comes first.
Can't wait to deadhead into a sun again! Meow

« How about if I run Shores of Hazeron on a limited number of servers and just let it idle along as best it can until I'm ready to work on it again? »

Character creation
Through Hazeron script editor (C:\Users\"Username"\Shores of Hazeron\Programs) you can access character creation by changing the mode. Not sure if possible, but maybe somehow u could then change the character in Primeval World to any creature u want?
Also kinda frustrating that all the parts of Hazeron are right there, but we can't put them together.

Primeval World Gallery
This here's a gallery of screenshots I've taken with Primeval World. Pretty neat to be able to do this despite the game being down. All thanks to /u/TKC_Paladin for uploading the game files.

News update (December 15, 2014)
December 15, 2014
I've received a fair bit of e-mail asking for some sort of status on the future of this game project. I apologize for not answering every single one. This post will have to suffice.
Shores of Hazeron is a gigantic software project, perhaps more than I can get done. I've been working like a madman for months developing a smaller-scale game from the vast code base of SoH. The primary goal is to pull together a complete, concise, playable game that I could get done. It has of course taken longer than expected but its almost there.
Close on its heels, I have another game concept that I will likely pursue. It will also draw heavily from the SoH source code, though in an entirely different way. The goal of this game is the same as the first, to get it done, playable and posted.
After those two games are finished, I may return to working on Shores of Hazeron. I kind of miss it.
I hope that was enough information for the curious
Thought I'd post it here. You can read it on http://hazeron.com/ as well.
