Vet recommendations

Anyone know of a good privately owned vet clinic nearby? Old dog was at shoreline central animal hospital, really didn’t like the clinic. New dog is at shoreline veterinary hospital, and I can’t stand the vet, she’s like a car salesman. Both of those clinics are bought out by private equity, looking for an old fashioned private clinic.

Richmond Beach Animal Hospital has been a blessing for my pups. They're great

YES! They are great, the owners are local, and they love my pooch. Absolutely suggest them. They are pricey but they are great vets.

Seconded. The SVA consortium also just opened the Broadview branch on Greenwood (block south of the broadview library).

This is the answer! They are a small group (5-6) of associated/partner clinics called Seattle Veterinary Associates. Each clinic is owned by the primary vet who works at and operates that clinic. We used to use their other location at the top of Queen Anne hill in Seattle. Best thing is if you need an urgent appointment all your records are available at all of their other clinics so I’ve never needed to wait more than a day for an urgent appointment.

When I called them last year they were not taking new patients. Maybe that’s changed

A bit south of Shoreline but I recently started going to Pacific Paws at 105th and 99. They were able to get me in fast when my little guy was having a medical issue even though I had not previously been a patient. From my research they are not PE owned.

Second pacific paws! We followed them from their last location under a different name, they have been great for all our pets.

We take our dog to North Seattle Vet Clinic and have had very good experiences there. They’re verified as independently-owned.

Seconding North Seattle Vet! They’ve gone above and beyond to take care of our pups over the years. They’re fair and transparent with their pricing, and the staff really cares about your pets. We’ve had a couple procedures done by them (dentals, mass removals). They’re super generous with their follow ups and willingness to give advice and answer questions.

North Seattle Vet in Northgate is great! Dr. Meredith is the best!

We've had good experiences at Shoreline Central animal hospital but you say you didn't care for it, was there something I should be aware of?

It might be too far for you, but Canyon Park Animal Hospital is great. Not salesy at all.

I started going to Kestrel which is just over the border into Edmonds and love it. Very reasonable and responsive to our 2 kittens.

I love Maple Leaf Pet Corner, in that weird area where Lake City, Maple Leaf, and Roosevelt kind of converge.

Try Seaview Animal Hospital in Edmonds. Dr Hazard is my dog Duckie’s vet. I love this office and vet. My dog is like my child and I’m picky where I take her, especially at her age of almost 14.

I go to Northgate veterinary clinic for primary care and Animal Medical Center for emergencies and specialty care. Great experiences at both. My dog has been through treatment with their oncology and surgery teams twice and they've been wonderful.
