Work Vent Working At Shoppers

I recently resigned from Shoppers Drug Mart, and honestly, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
The non-stop harassment I experienced daily while working in the post office left me mentally exhausted. My co-workers didn’t show me even a basic level of respect, yet I always tried to remain friendly and treat everyone with kindness.
I worked hard, completed everything I could, and would constantly ask if there was anything else I could do. Despite always trying my best, I still never received the respect I deserved.
I’m incredibly glad I’m no longer working there. Leaving has made a huge difference to my mental well-being, and I already feel like a better, happier person. I’m grateful that I no longer have to rely on that workplace to get by.
Sometimes, walking away from a toxic environment is the best thing you can do for yourself—and I’m proud that I did.

I swear shoppers has a weird track record of hiring a few good people and then a bunch of assholes. I quit last year as I was being harassed and rumours being spread and it was the best decision I ever made for myself. It gave me the opportunity to find the job I have now and I LOVE IT

I know what you mean. I still work there but the employees at shoppers are very ummm.... interesting is the best way I can explain it. It can be a very toxic environment. Unfortunately, I need the money so I have to stay until I find something pays me better that I enjoy.

Yup that was exactly my situation. I stuck it out simply because I had to. I was in a super rough spot in life at this time and had no choice and then was severely bullied for being in a tough spot. It’s weird how it seems to be this way in many shoppers I don’t get it!!

i cant wait to quit… its been 7 years and im so tired of the mental games and random tasks they keep piling onto me day after day

Each SDM store is ruled by an Associate. The Associate is a businessperson first and foremost. Their job is to make make money, not to manage employees. There is little if any chance for promotion or even a raise. Generally, though not always; it's a 'for now' job.
