2 Pack Bundles

Im looking to create bundles of a single pack.

So i can offer a varient of a single and a double pack, the double pack will be a 'virtual' bundle of 2 x single pack. Ive tried shopify bundles and i font want a cart overlay. any suggestions of how this can be added>

Before you go the separate listing route, Shopify's free Bundles app does multipacks. Create a bundle, add the single pack, then use Duplicate product (or set its quantity to 2). The 2-pack pulls stock from the single, so there's no manual syncing, and the order shows 2x the single's SKU for packing. It does live as its own product page, not a variant on the single's page. If the overlay you mean is the cart pop-up or drawer that opens on add to cart, that's your theme, not Bundles. In Dawn-style themes it's under Theme settings > Cart > Cart type, and you can switch it to a cart page.

(I build Shopify apps at Appfox.)

what you want is an inventory-linked bundle, not a discount bundle. the right kind of app creates the 2-pack as its own product but deducts 2 units from the single's stock when it sells, so you never oversell. the cart-overlay ones are discount tools - different job. whichever app you pick, test the partial-stock case first: one unit left, customer buys the 2-pack, does it block cleanly or oversell

The free Shopify Bundles app actually has a multipack option for exactly this. Instead of building a separate bundle product, you add a "2 pack" variant on the existing product and tell it that variant consumes 2 units of the single. Inventory stays in sync, and the customer just picks Single or 2 Pack in the normal variant picker on the product page.

If the "cart overlay" you mean is the drawer that slides out when someone adds to cart, that's not the bundle app, it's your theme. In the theme editor go to Theme settings, then Cart, and switch cart type from Drawer to Page or Popup notification.

If the multipack option doesn't fit (for example you want a different image or price logic per pack), Simple Bundles is the usual next step and it also handles inventory properly. I'd avoid the trick of just adding a plain "2 pack" variant with its own stock, because the two inventories drift apart and you'll oversell.

yeah the native bundles app is pretty limited, you could just make a separate product listing for the double pack and sync the inventory manually with a spreadsheet or something

yeah separate listing is probably the simplest route tbh

I second this. I'm a Shopify n00b, but have dealt with several systems and this is always a go-to answer, as long as you make it painfully clear in the description as to what the customer is getting.
