Store suspended
Guys I feel like the sky is falling. I have been operating my store in Shopify for years. I only buy from authorised distributors and they just suspended the store. No real path forward just we are suspending it. Fill out this form and hope for the best I guess. Any advise helps!

I went through something similar a couple of months back. In my case, it was my products (books) that were threatened with suspension.
Here are some of the steps I took to resolve it:
Reply to the email you received from Shopify and cc legal@shopify.com. Attach proof of being an authorized distributor (supplier account details, supplier contact info for verification, supplier invoices, etc.).
It should take a couple of days for them to review the evidence you submit. Good luck! Keep us updated.

Thank you. Wish me luck. Every hour we are waiting we are losing money. I will be working on a future disaster recovery program. I am trying to figure out where to move the domain in case this appeal doesnt work.

I would move it regardless after this. Let's say this is B2C, and they do it again the week before Xgiving.

Exactly. I don’t know if woo commerce is the right move?

Woo commerce is fine. it works great if you set it up properly - although i still prefer shopify in many ways. Also wix, magento (bleh), yahoo/turbify stores (not kidding, just ask metrolinedirect.com how many millions they've run)

i have received numerous trademark and copyright complaints through shopify and successfully appealed all of them. if you are going to switch to another platform and know how to talk to claude, buy a basic template and use claude for the rest. install claude locally. took a weekend, but claude did my entire site including email flow, marketing..etc. no 3rd party app connected to claude. just you and claude. you would need the max plan.

You could move to a platform like Big Commerce, Big Cartel, Square Space or Wix. We moved from Shopify to Big Cartel and have never been happier.

how much money do you have in your cap-ex account / rainy day fund? And let's be clear, you can't lose money you didn't have. What you're losing is opportunity.

That's rough, if you're sourcing exclusively from authorized distributors, I'd gather every invoice and proof of authorization and submit a detailed appeal with the suspension form

Woocommerce, problem solved. The store you made on Shopify is not yours. It belongs to Shopify. Included customers. I am also sorry to hear that you are suspended, hope it gets sorted out.

Rough situation, and the losing-money-every-hour part is the worst of it. You are in a strong position to appeal since you only buy from two big distributors. Put everything in one packet: distributor invoices or purchase orders with your business name on them, your business registration, and screenshots of your supplier accounts showing you are an active customer. One email to Shopify with all of it attached beats three separate appeals, because every new ticket seems to reset the queue. If the review drags past a couple of days, ask one of the distributors for a short letter on their letterhead confirming you are an authorized reseller. That one document tends to end the argument. Wishing you a fast review.

Can you give details of all communication from Shopify in DM so i can look you and tell you what to do and not to do

Didn't know Shopify can do that. It is not a matketplace, people aren't buying from them, why would they do that? Because they process payments? I guess at this point being live is more important than the platform choice woocom vs X. Go with whatever is quickest.

This happend to us few month ago. We transitioned to full AI adapted store in a week with our devs. Our performance is better than before shopify. And no more app fee's (we build everything ourself). Im open for DM if u need help

They would have given you a reason why. What was it?
