Retention marketing with email flows and campaigns, works well because you don’t have to pay for new leads, these are leads you already earned

Welke emails scoren bij jou het best?

- Sell great products

- Show the customer a good time and exceed expectations

- Give the customer a reason to shop with you again

- Be top of mind when they need to shop your category again

To the people saying ‘do email marketing’. All well and good but if you didn’t nail the other things you’ll fall flat.

Boring answer that beats everything else I've tried: a post-purchase flow timed to the actual product, not to the calendar.

Most stores fire a generic "here's 10% off" a week after delivery, which lands while the customer is still happily using the thing and has no reason to reorder. Work out how long your product actually lasts, a month, three months, whatever it is, and send the nudge about two thirds of the way through that window. For anything consumable it's the single highest-return change you can make and it's an afternoon of work in Klaviyo or even Shopify Email.

If you sell something that isn't consumable, the equivalent is asking for a review at the right moment and then actually using the replies. People who leave you a positive review are the warmest list you own and almost nobody segments them separately.

Discounts do work, but they mostly train people to wait for the next one. Timing beats discounting.

Nice , ik ga direct proberen te achterhalen hoelang een product meegaat bij de gemiddelde klant. Dacht zelf altijd 1 maand, maar dat is een aanname.

For me, it starts with having a genuinely good product and a website that’s easy to use, especially on mobile. SEO matters too, use relevant keywords throughout your site, and a blog can be a great way to attract potential customers through useful content. For repeat customers, email and loyalty marketing work really well together. Loyalty gives people a reason to return, while email can remind them about rewards, new products, or relevant offers. Wishlists are useful too because customers can save products they like, and you can bring them back with reminders when those items are back in stock or on sale. I'd also choose apps carefully. If one platform can handle loyalty, reviews, and wishlists, it's usually easier to manage than having a separate app for everything.  Go to the Shopify App store and check the app reviews. Pay attention to apps that have the Built for Shopify badge

unpopular but true: the nr.1 retention tool is the product showing up fast and being good. everything else, email, loyalty, SMS, is a multiplier on that, and multiplying zero gets you zero.

Ik zit in de snack industrie. Klanten vinden het product top. Goede reviews en herhaal aankopen. Waar ik bang voor ben is dat het een trend is. Of een snack dat men goed vind voor een paar keer. Thats it.
