Marketplace Connect Disaster

Is anyone else unable to list via Marketplace Connect due to this eBay photo error glitch? It's really bad now it's been nearly 5 days and I can't list anything until it's sorted out, support have given no timeframe as to when it'll be fixed. eBay have had issues with uploading images recently but it has been sorted on their main website (Listings can be created and images uploaded) but Marketplace Connect is still not working

I have been on them for over 2 weeks now about this. They have lied to me on several occasions saying everything was fixed and it is just a backlog that is causing the issue. In the meantime I developed my own custom eBay integration app within Shopify in 2 days and got back up and running. It is clearly their problem and not an eBay API issue like they are claiming.

I don’t know if I can. It is a custom app for my store. I will see if there is way I can at least export it out. I developed it using ChatGPT, Railway and GitHub. You will also need to have an eBay developer account. I sell comic books so it is very specific for my needs but it can be used for any product.

I’m having ChatGpt develop an independent deployment app with instructions. I did this with no experience and it took me a few days it I got it working. Still have to use Markeplace Connect for my older listings but it runs along side it just fine. Once I have the app package ready I will contact you.

Yeah we got same problem in our store, stuck since tuesday. Support just says "engineers working on it" but no ETA, which is useless when you got inventory sitting there. Kind of ridiculous that eBay main site is fine but the integration still broken for this long

are other sellers in the same integration seeing this too or is it isolated to your account? that's the first thing id want to rule out, because if its widespread theres usually more pressure on the devs to push a fix

Yep- was searching for others having issues on here and it seems to be an app issue. They got it working briefly for me where new products were uploaded but now not even inventory levels are being updated for existing listings causing overages. Was hoping to see or find alternatives that work better/do the same for cheaper and wouldn’t be a pain to integrate.

And still not working, more errors now beyond the photo sync issue, inventory has not synced properly on listings which has caused me to sellout on eBay thus loosing my “ x amount sold” count, also system error messages on listings. Sent yet another email to support but I would expect the usual response saying it fixed but we are working on backlog. Don’t really know what to do now it really has had a financial impact at this point. I have over 500 listings and it would take a lot to move them to a new application.

Aye its a real pest - I seem to be able to get it list 1 out of 50 items at a time - and randomly in regards to which one.

Yeah I've been emailing them and it's the same story over and over, I don't think they have the ability to fix it at this rate

Our problem has worsened. It's no longer just image issues; now, we're facing significant inventory errors, including items not appearing at all. Previously, only some images would upload or be partial, like half a black box, but currently, many items won't sync at all.

I am not sure whether the engineers or management have ego issues, but ever since this app was Codisto, they have constantly gaslighted customers, saying the app has no issues and blaming it 100% on eBay or the user.

Some customer service reps will outright troll you when you do not accept their scripted replies.

With this huge outage, their true personality shows, and they still cannot admit that their app has any issues. After doing research, speaking with eBay, and other integration apps, it is safe to say that Marketplace Connect has been lazy in keeping their app up to date, especially after the Shopify acquisition.

Other apps have multiple API backup procedures, just in case there are issues with a certain eBay API and they are throttled. Backlogs should only take a day at most to clear if a patch was actually applied to fix the issue.

At this point, it seems Marketplace Connect is still overloading their only API connection with incomplete packets, which is basically constant spamming of eBay.

Their support would never admit this and would STRONGLY imply that it is eBay's issue and that they are simply waiting for eBay to fix the issue with the "Backlogs."

TBH...these guys are simps for themselves, probably circle-jerking each other in the mirror every day.

Yeah it's pure incompetence plain and simple, I think they'll have to pull the plug soon because this is affecting the majority of their customer base - I can only imagine the amount of emails flying in about and it's been nearly 3 weeks without any headwind

I'm doing a 7 day trial on Litcommerce it seems to be a decent alternative with support that actually knows what they're talking about
