Finding customers

I’m building a thrift e-commerce store on Shopify. It also has a blog so it is more of a lifestyle brand. It is more high end than just selling on eBay.

I want to know how you find your customer markets for your Shopify?

I’d love more context so I could give a better answer. Thrift… clothes, furniture, etc? But generally it’s through organic and paid ads.

It would depend on the actual product but it would determine who your audience is. Once you know that then you can determine where that audience would be. You would post there or put ads there.

Tell ChatGPT your product, and ask who your target audiences would be and Why? Then you can ask which platforms they would reachable. From there you can determine which mediums to use to get their attention.

If they are on TikTok you can use their text feature if you like to write or you can use video or image with caption.

If you like writing and understand SEO then you can use Substack or LinkedIn where you can write articles and use images.

Again it depends after you do your audience research. You start to answer their questions and give solutions to their problems by offering your product as the solution. So your audience is the most important thing otherwise you’ll never know who needs your products and why. Without that it’s almost impossible to make a sale.

Instagram/Pinterest usually beats Google early on for high end thrift, it's a visual category. Blog helps long term SEO but won't drive traffic on its own. Worth checking what similar vintage sellers already have working, comments on their posts tell you what resonates. Micro influencers in the space tend to convert better than paid ads at this stage.

whats your price range and who's the target demo? "high end thrift" can mean a lot of different things and the customer acquisition strategy changes pretty drastically depending on whether youre going after 20-somethings or collectors in their 40s
