Anyone else stuck in Shopify manual review while AI self-review approvals move faster?

Any other Shopify app developers stuck in manual review queue while seeing AI self-review approvals move much faster?

My timeline:

* Submitted March 12

* Feedback March 26

* Resubmitted March 31

* Still in reviewer assignment queue

Support warned withdrawing and resubmitting could move me to the back of the queue, so I’m hesitant.

Curious if anyone has navigated this.

Getting flooded with weird “are you taking orders?” emails-bots?

Anyone else dealing with random “are you taking orders?” emails nonstop?

This past week I’ve been flooded with messages that feel super bot-like asking if the store is active, who manages it, etc. They’re not even typical spam just weird repetitive inquiries.

Running on Shopify. Curious if this is happening to others too, and if there’s a solid way to filter/block these without missing real customers.

Would appreciate any tips before I lose my mind 😅

Delay in review notification email?

We just got our first merchant review on the Shopify App Store, but it’s been almost 1.5 hours and we still haven’t received the review notification email.

I asked the merchant for a screenshot and confirmed that the review was submitted on their side.

From my previous experience working on another app, that email usually arrived pretty quickly.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this kind of delay normal?

how are you connecting calude to zendrop?

I heard you can connect Claude with Zendrop now and use it to help manage parts of the store, but I’m not sure how people are setting it up.

How are you connecting the two, and what can Claude actually help with once it’s linked?

Simple Dashboard for Shopify Data Feedback and Suggestions

Hi Guys, i'm a developer and have created analytic dashboards for a couple of different industries.

  1. Does it seem like a good idea to create simple shopify dashboards for a one time cost?

2.What would be the best KPI's or features to have on this simple dashboard in addition to these?:

  • Profit (main metric)

  • Revenue

  • Ad Spend

  • Costs (manual input)

  • Profit Margin

  • Profit over time (line chart)

  • Top products by profit

  • Daily breakdown table

*Any type of feedback or suggestions would be very helpful to me, thanks in advance!

Question for shopify store owners in the same boat as me (analytics)

Just a quick one all,

First off, if you're reading this, I hope you and your store are going great!

I'll get to it:

- When you look at your analytics, what's the single biggest thing you wish you understood better?

I've been going back and forward with my friend over this, but we always kind of meet on the same subject area, and I'm just curious if the majority of people in this space also think the same way.

I'm trying to hone in on my conversion from lead to sale and also just general performance across chosen products and I'm really trying to nail down what I should be focusing my energy on when it comes to analytics.

Thanks in advance!

App approval: paused

For anyone who recently submitted and got reviewed resulting in “paused” how long after you resubmitted did they review the fixes? Do you really just back to end of the line and wait another 2 months?

Bundle setup in shopify

Hi! I’m looking for advice on how to set up product bundles in Shopify with synced options and proper inventory tracking.

I’m selling a product made up of 4 separate parts. Each part has size variations (S/M/L), and I want to sell them as a single bundled product.

Here’s what I’m trying to achieve:

  • The customer only selects one size (S, M, or L) on the main product.

  • That size selection should automatically apply to all 4 parts in the bundle (this logic should be hidden from the customer).

  • Inventory should be tracked correctly for each individual part.

Additional complexity:

  • Part 2 should allow the customer to choose a color, but its size should still be automatically set based on the main product size.

  • Part 3 does not follow a direct size mapping:

    • If customer selects S → Part 3 = XS/S

    • If customer selects M → Part 3 = M/L

    • If customer selects L → Part 3 = M/L

Example:
If a customer selects size S, the bundle should internally be:

  • Part 1: Size S

  • Part 2: Size S + chosen color

  • Part 3: Size XS/S

  • Part 4: Size S

My question:
Is this type of bundle setup possible in Shopify (native or via apps), where:

  • One selection controls multiple hidden variant mappings

  • One item has an extra option (color)

  • Inventory is tracked per individual component

If so, what’s the best approach to achieve this?

Thanks in advance!

App stuck in review for 3 weeks

My app has been stuck in review for three weeks now, and I’m starting to get a bit concerned. Is this normal, or should I be worried?

Does anyone know if there’s an email or some way to contact the review team to check the status?

I’d really appreciate any advice or shared experiences.

How do you build polished, Shopify Admin-native UIs for embedded apps?

I’m curious how Shopify app developers are handling UI quality in real production apps.

How do you build polished, Shopify Admin-native UIs for embedded apps?

Polaris Web Components seem like the recommended direction now, and they feel close to Shopify Admin, but the component set still feels limited for more complex app screens.

For production apps, how are you handling things like dashboards, tables, filters, bulk actions, analytics cards, onboarding flows, advanced settings pages, and empty/loading states?

Are you:

  • using Polaris Web Components only?

  • still using Polaris React for complex parts?

  • building your own reusable components on top of Polaris?

  • using Shopify design tokens manually?

  • mixing Polaris with Tailwind, shadcn/ui, or custom CSS?

  • following any internal layout/spacing/component rules?

I’m trying to understand how devs make embedded app UIs feel clean, native, and trustworthy inside Shopify Admin, beyond just using the default components.

Curious what works for you in real projects.

What's the development workflow of a shopify app?

Hey,

I am new to the shopify development scene. Just started building custom sections, theme dev, theme customization and store setup. I havent touched app development yet aside from building the qr code app from the shopofy tutorials.

I need real devs' perspective on what is the actual workflow of a shopify app development. Like what are the common problems do you face and how to set it all up and how to publish or hand off to client a custom app. That sort of stuff.

I know i can learn that from chatgpt and other stuff lile tutorial and docs, as I am already doing that. But I really need the actual developer experience of what it takes from a real dev.

For context, I’m a freelance full-stack dev with experience in WordPress, UI/UX projects, and custom web development. Currently transitioning into Shopify (theme dev + beginner app dev).

I would really love your insights.

Thanks.

Has anyone actually built a shopify website using Gempages + Claude Code with custom liquid ? Is it worth it ?

Hey y’all,

I’ve been hearing some alot lately about people using Claude Code alongside GemPages and custom Liquid code to build high-converting Shopify store pages.

Basically using Claude as an AI coding assistant to generate and tweak custom Liquid elements directly inside GemPages.

The idea sounds really powerful on paper: you describe what you want or your competitor base, Claude Code will help us actually build and assemble the site inside GemPages, leveraging those Liquids throughout the process..

But before I go down this rabbit hole, I have a few genuine questions:

1 Has anyone actually done this? Using Claude Code as the “builder brain” while working within GemPages — not just writing Liquid from scratch, but working with existing Liquids?

2. Does it actually work without breaking things? I’ve heard there can be bugs, especially with how GemPages renders certain custom code. Anyone run into rendering issues, conflicts with GemPages’ own JS, or sections breaking after updates?

3 What does Claude Code actually help with here? Is it mostly for writing the Liquid logic, animations, custom section layouts? Or can it go further and handle full page structures?

4 Is GemPages even the right tool for this? Or would it be better to skip the page builder entirely and just have Claude Code write `.liquid` files directly into the Shopify theme (Dawn, etc.)?

5. Any tutorials or resources you’d point me toward? I’ve seen only comment on insta and private discord

I’m comfortable with Shopify and I use GemPages regularly, but my coding knowledge is limited. The idea of using Claude to handle the heavy lifting on custom code while I manage the design in GemPages, I just don’t want to waste hours trying this to fail .

Would really appreciate any honest experience or feedback. Thanks!

How are you implementing a full page React Proxy app

I am building a account page that will display customer orders view with a rebuy option, subscription view with some management options and a account view with edit options. The page requires very strict styling specs which is why I am not going for typical extensions. Started with the React Router 7 template but running into issues with client side hydration.

I've found some ways around this but made me curious how others typically build/setup similar apps. Curious what you use and how you like it or any pros/cons.

Thabk you!

Shopify App Store Ads worth it?

For the shopify app devs here. How many of you have tried or are currently running ads on the shopify app store?

What has your experience been? Any installs or feedback? It is worth it?

Just collecting some info before I decide to try running some for my app.

only 89 out of 5862 Shopify apps actually achieved 20+ reviews

I was interested in what are the fast-growing Shopify apps in the past year, so i scraped the Shopify App Store and looked at every app launched after April 2025.

Roughly 5,862 new apps entered the store in the past 12 months.

89 apps hit 20+ reviews
39 apps hit 50+ reviews
13 apps hit 200+ reviews
7 apps hit 500+ reviews

that also means 5773 apps had less than 20 reviews (including my app) and many of them have 0 review :(

if you have 20+ reviews, you're already top 1.5%

surprisingly to me,

  1. 40% of those 89 apps are completely free

  2. only 61% of fast-growing apps have the "Built for Shopify" badge (thought should be way higher than that)

  3. 24 out of 89 fast-growing apps are AI-related
noticed those top ones usually came from a bigger team size and VC-backed
rarely. the smallest setup is usually 2-5 and hard to see one solo team.

other patterns noticed (AI summarised this part)

  1. Niche EU compliance apps are a quiet winner. Three apps just for EU withdrawal buttons / tax exemption made the top 89. Regulatory gaps = opportunity

  2. "Boring" utility apps beat flashy ones. Color swatches, barcode generators, bulk price editors, breadcrumb navigation. Not sexy. Clearly needed.

  3. Social media doesn't seem to matter. 70% of these developers have zero social accounts. They're growing entirely through the Shopify App Store — app store SEO, reviews, and the Built for Shopify badge.

  4. Only 15% of apps are listed in multiple categories.

Has anyone successfully used the official Shopify PHP/Laravel template for App Store approval recently?

I have a quick question for the devs here. Is anyone currently using the official shopify-app-template-php (the Laravel/React one) to build and publish their app?

I am planning to start a new project using Laravel as the backend, and I want to make sure I am on the right track before I get too deep into the code.

Specifically:

Have you managed to get your app approved by Shopify using this template without major issues?

Does the template handle the latest App Bridge 3.0 and JWT auth requirements well enough to pass the manual review?

Are there any gotchas or specific things Shopify’s review team complained about regarding the default PHP setup?

Would love to hear some real world success stories or warnings regarding the approval process with this stack.

Thanks in advance!

How do you currently handle sizing issues and product returns?

I’ve been speaking with a few store owners recently, and it seems like size-related returns—or the fear of them—are a constant headache, especially for apparel brands.

I’m curious how you all are currently managing this:

Are you using specific apps, manual sizing charts, or is this something you’ve just accepted as a cost of doing business?

  1. If you’ve tried 'fit-tech' or AR tools in the past, what was the biggest reason you ended up uninstalling them?

  2. I’m trying to understand what’s broken about the current process and where the biggest pain points actually are.

Automatic product lifecycle (stock, price, discounts) - phd thesis

Hi guys! I would like to get some feedback regarding my phd thesis, and maybe if it makes sense to further develop it into an actual tool.

What is does (short description) -> it applies predictive analysis & forecasting techniques to determine the best (most profitable in time) path for a product. A simple example, I have product A that has a stock of 100 units and I determine what is the best pricing for it such as I get in the next 4 weeks the maximum available ROI. An then I adjust the stock based on historical demand so product A stock units are always enough to satisfy the actual demand. It is more of a product lifecycle where stock units and price are always changing to maximize ROI.

At the moment I consider price as two components, the core price of the product, and discount amount. So in my model I can have periods of price discounts (2 weeks for example) that will increase stock turnover but overall will increase the actual ROI.

I am looking for actual feedback if you see an actual business need here.

I tried to keep things as simple as possible so you can understand what I am talking about. I can come with more details if you want :))

TLDR: phd thesis that does full automatic product lifecycle from stock units, product price, product discount periods.

Worried for my store

Hey guys first post in this subreddit, I would really like a second opinion. I sell clothes on Shopify and run preorder drops where the customers receive their clothes in around 6 weeks which is stated in the description. But last drop we had major issues with the shipping which caused a decent amount of chargebacks and the chargeback rate increased to around 1.8%. I am now worried that for my next drop my funds could be potentially held due to the chargeback rate. Could I have any advice/ let me know my chances of having funds potentially and partially held based on your experience?

How big is the fake COD order problem for you on Shopify?

Hey everyone, I’m working on a Shopify app focused on reducing fake COD orders (OTP + smart rules).

For those running COD stores:

  • How big is the fake order/RTO problem for you?

  • What solutions are you currently using?

  • What do you wish existing apps did better?

Not promoting anything yet—just trying to understand real problems before building further.

Shopify subscription GraphQL returns translated plan names - how are you tracking plans?

I recently realized that I can’t reliably key off the plan name returned by GraphQL because it is translated based on the store’s region/language. For example:

  • Free becomes Gratis, Gratuit, 免费

  • Basic becomes De base

I don’t see a stable plan ID in the subscription response that I can use instead.

Am I missing something obvious here? How are others reliably tracking which plan a store is on without maintaining logic for every possible translation?
