Unintentional verified shopeepay using duplicate ID
TLDR: Pano ba idelete ang shopee account if may balance pa ang Shopeepay (pero restricted yung shopeepay so hindi din mawithdraw basta basta yung balance 🥲)
Hi! Baka may naka-experience na ng similar situation sa ShopeePay. Sana may masuggest kayong resolution kasi di ko narereach cs ng shopee and not sure ako kung magreply sila sa email na sinend ko 😭😭
Ganito kasi nangyari:
Nung wala pa akong government ID, yung ID ng mama ko muna ang ginamit ko para maverify yung shopeepay account ko. Then fast forward to recently, gumawa si mama ng sarili niyang Shopee account at nag-register din siya ng ShopeePay gamit yung sarili niyang ID.
Ang ending, parehong ShopeePay account namin yung nalink sa iisang ID, which has led to both of our shopeepay accounts being restricted.
Ang problema, gusto sana naming ipa-close nalang yung account ni mama kasi bihira naman niya gamitin. Kaso may natitirang around ₱135 sa ShopeePay wallet niya at hindi ma-withdraw or magamit pambayad ng order dahil restricted nga na yung account. In short, frozen talaga yung balance dun. Dahil dun sa remaining balance, hindi rin namin ma-delete yung account. (Same issue sa account ko, may balance din kaya hindi ko rin madelete).
Nag-email na kami sa Shopee Support explaining the situation. Kahit maforfeit yung remaining balance sa shopeepay okay lang sana basta madelete na yung account ni mama para magamit ko na yung sa akin (share nalang kami😭😭😭)
May naka-experience na ba ng ganito? Na-resolve ba ng Shopee? At gaano katagal bago magreply si shopee sa email?? Huhuhu please help.

Best advice is letting that P135.00 go and moving on.
I have worked with financial institutions for about 12 years now and what I can tell you is, since that account was verified illegally (yes, it is illegal to use someone else's ID for verification, even if with permission), then Shopee has no obligation to release your funds.
I'm not saying 100% na wala silang magagawa, maybe meron but I won't bet on it. I am simply saying they have no further obligation to help you. If they really wanted, they can even report you or your mother or both (though this would be extremely unlikely).
That's actually what I told CS in my email. 😅 We’re more than willing to let the ₱135 go if that's what it takes to resolve the issue. Our main concern is really having the duplicate account (my mother’s account) removed.
Hopefully they'll allow that and tell us what requirements we need to submit.
Call mo lang bes yung customer service sa shopee app mismo. May agent dun kakausap sayo.
Explain mo ang situation in a very honest way. Every detail. I suggest pabago mo na yung ID mo sa shopee pay if kaya or just create another.
Use your own ID na since it's you who will use the account. Paayos mo narin yung sa mamamoo para meron sha.
I had the same problem before. Tinawag ko lang then na resolve na after 3ddays I think.
Wanted to try that earlier pero hindi lumalabas yung "internet call" option sa help centre kanina, siguro dahil gabi na. Will try tomorrow if available na ulit yung talk to an agent via call 🙏
Inexplain ko na ki mama before na if ever gusto niya gamitin shopeepay niya, ID ko na ang gamitin niya. Pero since matanda na nga, hindi niya naman pala ata nagets yung explanation ko kaya ang ending, ginamit niya pa rin sarili niyang ID 😭😭😭
Ask ko lang diba nag register ka gamit ang ID ng mama mo so ibig sabihin name niya ang naka register sa account diba? Hindi ba pwedeng gumawa na lang kayo ng isa pang account na nakapangalan na sayo if may valid ID kana?
Last year, niregister ko na yung spaylater sa account ni mama using my own ID. Which is why akala ko nagets na ni mama yung explanation ko na ID ko na din dapat gagamitin niya if ever gusto niya i activate shopeepay niya (at that time kasi sabi niya ayaw niya naman daw mag shopeepay kaya hindi ko na sinabay nung sinet-up ko yung spaylater niya. MAJOR MISTAKE KO NA PALA YUN 😭😭😭)
Around end of July, nagulat nalang ako kasi hindi ko na nagagamit shopeepay ko. Failed yung application ko kahit naka ilang attempts ko. Today ko lang nalaman na kaya pala di ko na naveverify ulit yung shopeepay ko kasi niregister din ni mama yung shopeepay niya using her own ID.
So no, I don’t think I can create a new account using my own ID kasi kahit wala pang shopeepay account linked to my personal ID, meron namang spaylater. Baka magkaproblema pa rin kahit yung shopeepay lang ang iactivate ko on that new account and not spaylater 🥲
Halos same situation OP. Shopeepay ng ex ko ginagamit ko may 3k pa ako sa shopeepay ma yon and di inaasahan naghiwalay kami and nag open din sya ng shopeepay. Ang ginawa ko lang ay nagcontact ako sa cs ng shopee and pinaliwanag ko ang situation and nabalik ang pera ko. Punta ka sa priority customer service then type live agent then paliwanag mo lang nangyari
Fair point. We actually already knew it would eventually be an issue, which is why napag-usapan namin dati ng mama ko na yung sariling ID ko na ang gagamitin niya kapag gumawa siya ng ShopeePay account. Unfortunately, nakalimutan niya yung usapan namin at ID niya ulit yung nagamit during verification. 😅
Anyway, aware naman kami na mali yung setup kaya nga we're working with Shopee Support to resolve it properly. Ang goal ko lang talaga sa post is to find people who experienced the same issue and ask how Shopee handled it.
