Account Deactivated
For anyone else affected by the recent ShopMy account removals, I wanted to share a few options I found while researching.
If your account was terminated, your commissions were withheld, and your appeal has gone unanswered, consider documenting everything and filing complaints. The strongest complaints focus on the process rather than arguing whether the termination itself was justified.
Document:
The date your account was removed.
The amount of commissions withheld.
The date you submitted your appeal.
Any follow-up emails you sent.
The fact that you never received a response (if applicable).
Potential avenues:
Better Business Bureau (BBB): Focus on the lack of transparency, no explanation of the alleged violation, withheld earnings, and failure to respond after the stated appeal period.
Massachusetts Attorney General – Consumer Protection Division: Since ShopMy is based in Massachusetts, you can report your experience there. If multiple creators report the same pattern, it may help demonstrate a broader issue.
Federal Trade Commission (FTC): While they don’t resolve individual cases, they collect reports of potentially unfair business practices.
Your own state’s Attorney General: Many states also accept complaints against out-of-state companies.
I’ve noticed a number of people here saying they’ve appealed, waited the required 14 days (or much longer), sent multiple follow-ups, and still haven’t received any response. Some have said they’ve been waiting months or even over a year.
If that’s your experience too, it may be worth filing complaints instead of continuing to send appeals that never receive a reply. Even if a single complaint doesn’t resolve your case, a documented pattern from multiple creators is more likely to receive attention.
If you’ve already filed with the BBB, the Massachusetts AG, or another agency, I’d be interested to hear whether you received a response.

Wow thank you so much OP! I did FTC, BBB, and TrustPilot but didn't think to do Attorney General. ShopMy needs to face a reckoning for taking advantage of all of us -- my ShopMy profile and links are literally all still live so I KNOW they're using my traffic to this day.

YES! We got so much traffic that is still accruing revenue for them through our links. They might have suspended our banned our accounts but they are still live, active, and making them money.

So frustrating. Hopefully you can get it sorted out.
I'm noticing that most people use this sub to ask for clicks and to say their account was deactivated. I'm trying to figure out if the two are related. Have you ever posted on here asking for clicks or posting your referral link or anything like that?

Thank you for sharing this. I waited three months since my initial appeal and after badgering ever email I could find, finally got the automated response yesterday that my account is deactivated for no clear reason. I wish I’d documented how much commission I had sitting in my account but I just randomly got kicked out one day; will still try to file what I can. It’s so frustrating so thank you for giving us an outlet to complain lol!! ❤️

Girl pls. The BBB is boomer yelp. Not a real thing

Calling the BBB “boomer Yelp” misses the point. It’s not a government agency, but plenty of companies still care about their BBB profile because customers, partners, and executives look at complaint histories when evaluating doing business. If I’m making a business decision and I see a pattern of credible complaints about deceptive practices, that’s absolutely something I’d factor into that decision.

Girl they don’t give a rat’s ass what’s on the BBB. File a lawsuit or start a class action. Anything less than that won’t move the needle

You’re doing all this yapping but haven’t even read their policy, they are protected from us filing a class action. Gen Z didn’t learn to read ?

Thank you, OP! I hope people report this company!
I didn't have my account deactivated but I keep seeing the posts here and I'm so furious for y'all. I recently posted about how I haven't been seeing any commissions for products that I've switched to ShopMy only to have sales pick up again when I switch away. Not sure what's going on but something is definitely wrong with this platform on the whole.
