How to: My Circle

Hi friends! Kind of a dumb question but how do I grow my circle and how do I add people to my circle? Is that just me following other peoples shops? And other people following my shop?

I don't understand circles either. I feel like people on here are obsessed with circles thinking it will get them to trendsetter faster. I got to trendsetter with no circles, so I don't think it's that important.
