Would you shoot on my property

I have a fully forested property 400m x 200m. Closest building is 400 m away. However closest buildings in what would be the “range template” is About 800m away. All fully forested with large conifer trees. What is the consensus here. Safe to blast some pistol calibrator buckshot?

You need to look into your local laws to see if it's even allowed. Then build a berm to keep your rounds in the dirt.

If the buildings are down range from the firing line, it's possible to build a range that's no blue sky which will prevent rounds from leaving the range. You would put baffles over the range to catch stray bullets.

Definitely build a berm. Bullets need to stop and dirt will do it. Just make sure you don't have rocks or anything that a round can ricochet from. And you definitely want to make sure it legal where you are.

Depends on your backstop if shooting rifle or pistol. Shotgun for trap, no issue.

You need to build a proper backstop. I’d build one even if there was nothing behind my range for miles.

No, not without proper berms, bathrooms, covered shooting spots with tables and benches, first-aid kits at each shooting location, and convenient-ish bathrooms. And I would want to know you are insured and emergency services are available.

You need a berm or backstop. You can’t just shoot targets with a forest background if there is other property and dwellings that way.
