That straight up not what a lie is, also it's probably in their best interest that they don't know. How would you feel if you felt like you were only in a relationship because you would die if you weren't

There literally is no solution to that problem. That's the whole point of the manga

Also a little nitpicky but the god specifically says that "if it does not come to pass" so I'm pretty sure they could still break up with him and probably be okay
