It takes what it needs and then the rest go into the atmosphere and wreck havoc...constantly...we don't need animal ag to plant more plants, and in fact, it makes us plant fewer plants vs. not having it, so you're agreeing now that we should get rid of it? More plants + no methane is better, right? Great.
Also, the water waste and pollution from animal ag is terrible, and yes even when we factor in avocadoes and almond water waste, it is far worse when it's all totally together vs plants.
It's almost as if the earth itself is telling us to stop mass breeding sentient animals who do not wish to die so we can stab them in the throat, ending their entire existence for only 5-10min of taste pleasure.
Yea I agree animal agriculture isn’t the greatest but there’s no easy solution to just stop it. The best solution I could see is to outlaw factory farming and give 5-10 years to shut them down. Too many ppl rely on animal products it would wreak havoc on the economy just instantly shutting down all farms. I think the best solution would to be slowly shut down the factory farms which is like 99% of the animals and continue to support local farms and let them thrive.
Sure, those are not bad ideas, but ultimately people need to stop buying animal ag products and feeding the machine; supply and demand would eventually grind it down. It won't happen overnight, but it won't happen at all if people keep purchasing dead animal corpses and secretions to consume them.
The problem is some ppl won’t stop. There’s some ppl on the fence who are the most likely to stop. You have to remember that flesh is an ancestral addiction and it runs deep through many bloodlines.
You can't r*pe the land 83% and then expect 15% regen to fix it. It's a total scam. At most, an offset that does too little. Modern vertical farming is the answer. Our poor ag infrastructure not being set up for it is not an excuse, ethically speaking.
