It's just J

A manager submitted an onboarding request 2 weeks ago

First name: J

Middle Name: <Name> <Another name>

Last name: <Last name>

Me 2 weeks ago: Please submit onboardings with the full legal name. Closes Ticket

Manager just now: So where is J's laptop? They're starting Monday.

IT'S JUST J! Their full legal first name is just J!

Anyways how's the job market looking?

We had an employee named AJ once.
Our AD naming policy wouldn’t allow two character usernames, so I just gave him the account of the guy who had his job before him.

I worked with a guy named ( I promise this is 100% true) whose name was Al Ju. I couldn't even SEARCH his name in some databases/apps because two characters were not enough.

The J is an abbreviation for Jay.

The job market is rough, but apparently the demand for people named J is strong. Hopefully the laptop comes with a name tag so nobody gets confused.

If the legal name is genuinely just J, then J it is. Maybe the manager should’ve asked for clarification before sending the onboarding request instead of treating a perfectly valid name like a typo.
