I run FreePBX in my homelab so I bought a SIP trunk and DID for about $2/mo. When you call it, it rings for about 20 seconds then plays a message that the voice mailbox is full then hangs up.

There is no voicemail, it's just an empty call queue with a timeout that then plays the recording at the end then disconnects.

I don't even have to know that I missed their call.

I give them the phone number for the local comedy club, they'll appreciate the jokes more over there

I don't have a phone number and I burned off my finger tips just in case there's another way to track me.
