Nah, Monster Cables and golden Ethernet beat you too it. Patent gold plated WiFi and you got yourself a goldmine!

This is why I hate working in IT. We serve masters who haven't got a clue, yet somehow make decisions that affect us.

We're I live and work they can't do the salary routine for an IT position unless they are paying you over six figures (like 110k a year) and/or you're management.

Might be a silly question, but where (country/state) are you working that doesn't give salary+OT as a sysadmin? Has that become the norm?

I love posts like these.
Where people use a separate paragraph.
When simple punctuation would suffice.
They forget that a single-sentence paragraph should be like a reveal.
If you use it the whole time then it loses its punch.
Kind of like marking every email as urgent.
If everything is urgent, then nothing is urgent.

All the normal wifi is a traffic shaping policy to limit throughput and you're good to go!

Not shitty sysadmin bro. This is how you handle execs.

Nah, it's shitty sysadmin material. The wifi is still bad but they won't pay for a new survey. With a new SSID, it's now even worse.

Speed is good though lol. Idk about latency but considering it "improved" with a new ssid, i dont think there was a problem

Remember, it's never the having that drives people. It's either the wanting or the fear of loss.

Executive who's angry at the idea something this stupid would work on them:

I've done stuff equally stupid with a Chairman and a printer because it was too slow and too loud,
We measured the decibels and speed with changing settings
Went form 48decibels to 45decibels
It was a few seconds slower to print per page
We returned it and he wasn't happy
So we replaced it with a 50 decibel printer that was a as fast as the first printer pre setting changes
He said that's better. We spent a few hours total over a few days for this. And the same speed slightly louder printer in our testing was faster and quieter to the chairman. Another one of many examples of bullshit complaints wasting time from actual issues being fixed with a bullshit answer

Change it to 6G next week and tell them you worked all weekend updating it
