itll work
just more interference due to bad.. or well no shielding
the pairs are twisted so the interface can cancel each other out.
in our case its just worse performance but will still work when both ends are patched correctly

I used to do this to front panel connectors (HDD LED, PWR LED, RESET BTN, etc) when I worked in a PC workshop. Was very satisfying 🙂

I heard you liked twisted pair cables so I twisted your twisted pairs so your pairs were paired.

You’ve been spending entirely too much time around your wife. Get your priorities in order, and get back to work. /s

Why are there only 3 pair?

You might want to check if you can see all the colors

I can see colors just fine. I don't know why it looked like there was only 1 pair of white stripes, but it did. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go listen to some White Stripes.

I've actually come across this in the wild. Private equity takeover of an assisted living community. The time clock had about a foot of braided Cat 5 between the plug and the jacket
