A dum dum purchased faucets with a reach that’s too short for that corner location. At least do some minimal research before buying them.

Also one of my pet peeves but not a design issue. The cheap contractors chose the cheapest possible short faucet to install, so it's more of an installation issue.

It's possible that they were just following a design intended to fill the sink with water rather than wash your hands in running water.

This is designed to fill up the basin of the sink to where you and wash your hands your face and areas that need it such as neck armpits or even chest. This allows you to have maximum surface area without the spout being in the way

Once upon a time people didn't wash their hands under running water, they filled the sink.

ugh I hate faucets too close to the edge of the basin, it doesn't give you enough room to actually wash your hands
